AFMI Condoles the Passing Away of Syed Shahabuddin
The American Federation of Muslims of Indian Origin (USA& Canada) is deeply saddened by the passing away of Syed Shahabuddin, former Member of Parliament, diplomat, scholar and one of the tallest leaders of Indian Muslims. He will be remembered for his wise counsel and bold defence of the underprivileged. He was a speaker at various AFMI conventions including the first one held in New York City in 1991. His demise has left a great void for Indian Muslims in particular and to Indian polity in general.
