The Detroit-based American Federation of Muslims of Indian Origin makes a heartfelt appeal for your assistance in providing education to those who need it most. Since its inception in 1989, AFMI has sponsored and supported hundreds of educational projects in India. It has helped local communities open primary and higher schools, offered scholarships to deserving students, honored high school and higher secondary school high achievers, sponsored vocational training, and rehabilitated distressed families. Education is the cornerstone of empowerment. It is the key that unlocks doors to a brighter future, offering hope, opportunity, and the chance for individuals to realize their full potential. Yet, for millions of Muslim children and youth in India, access to quality education remains a distant dream, a dream that you can help transform into a reality. Poverty, conflict, and discrimination deny countless children the opportunity to attend
quality school. For others, even if they manage to enrol, inadequate resources and infrastructure hinder their ability to learn and thrive. This cycle of disadvantage perpetuates inequality and robs entire communities of the chance to break free from the chains of poverty and ignorance.

However, the American Federation of Muslims of Indian Origin (AFMI) believes we can make a difference together. By supporting education, we can empower our communities in India to build a better future for themselves and future generations. Your generous contribution can help provide:

AFMI will focus on the following programs to help marginalized communities achieve higher academic standards in the coming years.

Its projects are:
